- Hiiii my name is Kayla. I'm from a small, country town close to Statesville, NC. I'm a freshman at UNC-Greensboro, hoping to receive a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I want to specifically work with children who have speech problems. It all started when I was in a nursing class receiving my CNA. When I did clinicals, I HATED nursing. I got to job shadow a speech-language pathologist and I immediately knew it was my passion. I also have a younger brother who goes to speech therapy. My grandmother also went to speech therapy for her swallowing difficulties after having cancer. So, they too inspired my career choice. Also ... I love cheerleading, gymnastics, all kinds of music, my family, my friends, my sweet little Yorkie, eating, dancing, coffee, asian food, laughing, Japanese cherry blossoms, and zebras. Well, that's me .. summed up : )
